Newest edition to the Endless Bummer NY masthead: Grant Cornett, Staff Photographer.
I've know Grant for some New York years and always liked him. I like him even more now. Funny how that works.
Here are some snaps from yesterday morning. Gotta say, Lentini told me Smitty's was working, then I get these in the email from LB this morning. Yesterday morning's Ditch Plains was a fun early morning diversion, but nothing as good as what I hear was happening further west.

and one more came in late edition...here.
Word on the street has some of these being Mollusk Chris.

yesterday was one of those days when complaining about wave size would've been easy--soft, knee to waist high at best (out at Lido, anyway) w/lengthy lulls in between. but waves or no waves, it's tough to bitch and moan about a 70-degree morning spent bobbing in the ocean, the sun gradually elevating across the sky, and occasionally catching a ride. (although, as you suggest, staying closer to the city might've been a better choice.)

digging the addition of local photos.

its not like it was epic per say..it was just the fact the sky was amazing with huge puffy clouds and the water had that oily texture to it---you could have been in trunks or a fullsuit--that perfect kind of temperture. As for the surf to me when i think about it, it was epic..because it was warm rideable and clean. THE FACT I SWITCHED OFF BETWEEN A 9'6" NOSERIDER TO A 7'4" LONGFISH TO A 6' 0" QUAD IS JUST A TESTAMENT TO THE KIND OF WAVE IT WAS..AND THERE WERE MICRO BARRELS TO BE HAD

The one thing that got me thinking that way, about not getting the best of it, was that I knew, while I was up at DP "alone" I had friends goofing around together elsewhere in the same waves.
Sometimes it's good to goof around in the small stuff with friends and family.

Fourth and fifth waves from the top - I could ride either one of those every day for the rest of my life and never complain once.
