Lapsed Catholics Skips Along

Or plods, as the film may make the case.  But our movie has now been seen in more than a few major metropolises and we are grateful for that.  Thanks to those that have championed it.  Now we gotta make another one somehow.

Pilgrim Radio on Drift

A conversation between a guy I went to college with and a guy who lives down the street.

Iggy Steals My Only Karaoke Stand By

I don't know how to sing any other song. Really. The only other one I even attempt is "To All The Girls I've Loved Before" and that's only when Jack is around, and frankly he ends up singing most of it by the end anyhow. So yeah, thanks Iggy. As if making the being-all-busted-up look work in spades wasn't enough, you really cramp my style here again.

Kassia Meador & Mikey DeTemple Film Screening Recap

Models, hipsters, movers, shakers, tall people, short people, Soho types, Williamsburg types. Lila Jean! Chris Mosier! Thad! Ruth! Antonio! Surf Collective Joe! That other guy! There was a lot of talking to people while watching their eyes scan the room past your head. There was a lot of talking to people you were glad you bumped into. Beer! Booze! Pretty girls! Handsome men! New York, New York, New York. A fun scene.

YES

"This installation draws information from the intensity and movement of the water in a remote location. Wave data is being collected in real-time from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration data buoy Station 46246 (49°59’7″ N 145°5’20″ W) on the Pacific Ocean. The wave intensity and frequency is scaled and transferred to the mechanical grid structure installed at The National Museum in Wroclaw, Poland. The result was a simulation of the physical effects caused by the movement of water from this distant location."

Early Autumnal Rant Edition One

I've never had an injury that has kept me out of the water. The sort where there are waves and you look at that knee or that ankle or you rub that back or that shoulder and simply have to accept your current physical limitation.  No, my hobgoblin has always been circumstances.  It has always been geography or schedule or, most lamely, the mental state.  Until now.  The torrent of rage, shame and  desperation that swirls around the head knocks almost everything out of joint.  I am no good at not moving.  I am no good at not doing something.  I've got too much nervous energy for that, too much Qi jumping round the joint. I am the half eaten sandwich perched half-eaten and ineffectual atop the car.

More From Mick's Reef

Derek Hynd's shadow looms large on our bit of Atlantic coast line at the moment, and here this one comes trucking through. Good timing. Context, context, context.

Ty Breuer : The Big Interview

As far as I'm concerned, there isn't sunshine enough in the Sahara for the moment this guy deserves. Click on the fot for the NY Surf interview.

Dude, you got any wax?

I don't know how many times I've asked that question, actually emphasizing the dude part just to keep it  real.  You know, real.  But here is an idea that has been kicking around and a guy who is trying to make it happen. Click on the fot.
