One of the most influential surfers of the last 5/8ths of the last quarter of the second half of the first decade of this century, Jackie Moonbags remains an unsung underground hero to many, an icon to some and a role model to none, his exploits in and out of the water largely ignored by mainstream surfing media. We here in this little corner of Brooklyn know exactly how much he has affected the game with his last-ditch efforts, his hail-Mary passes and his full court presses, our understanding of sports metaphors only matched by our ability to mix them. Suffice to say, today is the day, lo these many years ago, when a screaming, unsatiated baby popped out of a mother's womb, readily spouting philosophical physics and chop hopping to the Lord's delight.
