Adam Cannizzaro's Instant Gratification

I've been looking at Adam's photos for a few years.  They fluctuate between the literal figurative, and the flippantly abstract. His approach is pretty pragmatic given whatever he seems to be looking at.  It is a trained ability to see that takes time to learn, a time to add to talent, and that has a lot of value against the instant nature of our digital realm. He is offering his photos up as fundraising for the Sandy Relief effort.  Every one a perfect holiday gift.

"Hi, These are photos from the NY and NJ area, taken either with an Iphone or Canon60D and edited on Iphone. For those of you interested in purchasing any of these prints, 100% of all profits will go directly to Hurricane Sandy relief through the Waves For Water organization. You can find more information at http://www.wavesforwater.org/ Thank you for the support."

Jetty Hurricane Relief T-Shirt

In an effort to aid those suffering from Hurricane Sandy, we've designed a reflief t-shirt which will allow us to UNITE & REBUILD!  Profits from the sales of this custom, Jetty T-shirt will go to victims of the storm who are in direct need of assistance as well as the emergency response units who risked their lives to save others.  We will be accepting pre-orders through Friday, November 16th and at that time we will screen print & deliver the first wave of orders.  This relief effort will be focused within New Jersey.  Our thoughts lie with all who were affected by this historic and devastating storm.

Abbie Zuidema for Sandy Relief

Printed on professional printing paper; heavy weight, archival and acid free. 8.5 x 11”
This is an archival print of the original watercolor painting of the Far Rockaway that I made for Edible Queens, Issue 12, Summer 2012
(Click on watercolor)

Featured in "Best of the Boardwalk" this watercolor map showcases some of my most favorite people on the beach. Motorboat & the Big Banana, DiCosmos, Rockaway Taco, Rippers, Connolly’s, Veggie Island/And Coffee & Caracas.

The Rockaways is special place for us. My husband Josh has been surfing out there for years. Better yet, it’s where his mom & dad fell in love. Janet & Harvey (his parents) spent summers out there with their families during its heyday. They stayed in the bungalows, hung out on the boardwalk & played on the beach.

Art Therapy Donations @ Picture Farm

DONATE ART SUPPLIES
drop off at Picture Farm

Our friend, Aria is running a big art therapy movement to begin to support the healing process of this hurricane tragedy. Please drop off any art supplies to Picture Farm (338 Wythe Avenue between South 1st & 2nd) all this week. Here is her posting of the initiative:

Dear friends, family and the community at large,

We are all aware of the complete destruction and devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy. It is amazing to see how people come together during these times of need!! Countless people, communities and organizations are banning together to offer food, shelter, clothing, financial assistance, medical care and physical help!

The victims of Hurricane Sandy have experienced immeasurable loss and trauma. They are experiencing grief, stress, anxieties, trauma, despair and hopelessness.

I am asking all of you, whom have been less effected, to donate art supplies (they don't have to be brand new!). Crayons, paper, cray-pas, paints, really anything that is non-toxic! I am teaming up with several of my art therapist colleagues to collect these supplies and run art therapy groups at area shelters to provide support to the victims of Sandy, especially the children.

Below is a current list of places taking donations...hope this list will quickly grow!

Through creating art and reflecting on the art products and processes, people can increase awareness of self and others cope with symptoms, stress and traumatic experiences; enhance cognitive abilities; and enjoy the life-affirming pleasures of making art."

Please feel free to email me with any questions (I will respond as quickly as possible) at sandyartsupplydonations@gmail.com.
