Today's Thought

Aaron is an architect in Greece. His brother Rusty and I used to get up early to surf C Street. Well, actually, Rusty would get up early, knock on my door then take off when I didn't wake up. I think Rusty lives in Canada now. But this is about Aaron, really. He lives in Greece see, as an architect. And he's still thinking about some important things. And I know this cuz he sent the Shane Horan commercial through this morning. And that led me to the cat commercial. Anyhow... I wonder how many buildings are being built in Greece right now? I suppose Aaron might get some surf soon.

More Aaron here.

Surf Art By Any Other Name

Another One Pops Out

Yet another new member of the EBNY familia.  Welcome home Oliver!

Every time I squeeze into the winter suit and paddle out I pull from mental bag a handful of recycled whines.
"Goddamn I hate booties."
"Jesus I hate mits."
"Christ almighty I can't do a thing with a hood on."
Usually, pulling out the foul weather gear comes after a healthy hiatus from surf.  It's just how it seems to end up working.  Some guys get to use their foul weather gear weekly and daily.  Mine tend to be used monthly, if that.  In this case, exactly one month has gone past since my last surf.  And that last surf was in unseasonably warm San Diegan waters.  To further compound the problem, I am a fantastic regresser.  World class.  Given a couple weeks off and my arms are noodles, my balance sputters and my confidence is shot.  All to say the last few days found me happily cursing the rubber and neoprene.  Thank Yahweh we had some waves this weekend.

Stecyk. Lentini. Stecyk. Hurley?

Yeah, well there is a lot going on here. Or maybe not much at all. Very simple, probably. Just one vision of one vision of the California dream. But of that vision, it's all there, fever-dream style. As many things Stecyk, it was brought to my attention by one B. Lentini of Mastastico Town. Based on the little You Tube ticker, it hasn't been enjoyed nearly enough.

For Lentini

Today's Thought

Well, ok, here too...

Absolutely sure you don't need to see this again. Absolutely sure you've seen it from a thousand other sources. But it's just too cool.
