The crowds recede again. I think this summer has been more ponderous than most in many ways. The surf, first of all, was mostly awful. The crowds out east, by most accounts, were even more harrowing than usual. But as the waves grow in size  the temperature plummets in response and things tend to thin out. Opportunitiy laid bare.
